ARNOLD
FAULKNER

It is somewhat sad occasion this year because Arnold is attending his last Staffordshire Championships as Head Coach of Newcastle Swimming Club
Arnold joined Newcastle ASC as Coach in the mid 1980’s and over the years developed the Club into one of the top Staffordshire Clubs.
He is a fully qualified ASA coach and has produced many top ranking swimmers. Very few Clubs the size of Newcastle can boast such a range of talent over the years and the credit for this is in no small part due to the excellence of his coaching. Yet again, at these Championships we have seen the young developing talent of Newcastle producing some excellent swims. |
|
At least 5 of his swimmers have been members of ASA national squads and this includes 2 swimmers namely Heidi Earp and Mark Stevens who both swam in the Olympic Games.
Alongside this Arnold has always found time for the younger swimmers and has supported them, and the County, at County Development Days. In fact, one year, due to odd numbers, Arnold paired himself with an 11 year old to complete some land training exercises.
In recognition of his work and support for the County, our President, Eileen Salt, is seen here presenting him with a Certificate of Thanks for his contribution towards swimming in the County of Staffordshire.
We wish
him a long active and above all, happy retirement. |
